Weather: I want to be mostly wrong and still get paid
We’re winding down our Memorial Day weekend here in the Greenbaum household. It wasn’t the weekend we were expecting. We didn’t go to the Missouri Botanical Garden or watch the Shakespeare Festival’s production of ‘The Tragedy of King Richard III’ under the stars in Forest Park. We thought we would, because this is the weather forecast my newspaper (partnered with the local CBS affiliate) told us on Friday to expect for the weekend:
Yeah, that’s “partly sunny” on Saturday; “warm and humid” on Sunday; and “storms” on Monday.
We got rain on Saturday, rain on Sunday and a doozy of a thunderstorm in the early morning Monday (those links show you the Weather Channel’s record of my weather those days). In fact, we got so much rain, firefighters were working overtime rescuing motorists who were stranded by floodwaters just across the river in St. Charles County.
I’m not the only one whining about this. Everyone I talked to this weekend was bummed about the bum forecast.
Not that I’m bitter.

I’m not nearly as frustrated about the weather as I am about the fact that these guys make close to 300,000/yr and are constantly getting it wrong. I guess I should have been a meteorologist.
