Juxtaposition: Candy carnage and automatic text ads

I just love the juxtaposition of text ads, automatically generated, and the stories they go with. Fox 2 KTVI today screamed about the “candy carnage” on Interstate 270 around St. Louis.

Interstate 270 was completely shut down in both directions for three hours Saturday at Old Halls Ferry in North St. Louis County when a tractor trailer driver slammed on his brakes and the tires of the truck caught fire. That led to the entire truck igniting. It has been completely destroyed. The semi had been carrying a load of candy and the accident scene was littered with melting chocolate and candy wrappers.

The text ads below the story, as I look at it now:

Confession: I didn’t know Hugh Downs was still alive. Ooops.
