oslo_coverA colleague twittered about this little social media success story. I love little anecdotes like this, and it seemed worth sharing.

Darryl Swint is a designer at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His two-part tweet on Monday afternoon said:

How social networking works: 1) Saw a late-night re-run of CSI:NY 2) liked a song. 3) Found a CSI:NY fan site that lists episode songs. 4) Previewed each song on iTunes until I found the one I liked. 5) I am now the proud owner of both Oslo albums. Song was “The Stranger.”

Small acts of civic journalist results in iTunes earning 20 bucks.

  2. More importantly, the band makes money, since iTunes gives most of the sale to the producers. And since they’re an indie label, less corporate overhead!
